How I got my Blog and Nickname
It's no secret how much I'm into Billy Joel and his music,
so, of course the name of my Blog and my user name
are somehow related to him.
As you might know Billy Joel wrote a song called
"Angry Young Man" a masterpiece!
A writer named :"Hank Bordowitz " decided to write a book
about my all time hero, which is called:
Billy Joel: The Life and Times of an Angry Young Man

I feel like I'm leading a double life, that's why I replaced
Life for Lives.
The name Christie Lee is easy,
it's a Billy Joel song (Surprise!).
It's another ode to Christie (lee Hudson) Brinkley.
The weird thing about me picking this name
is that the song is on the album I like least.
"An innocent man" even though it contains three
top 10 hit singles, I don't like it that much.
It felt like it didn't fit Billy.
I do like to listen to the album every once in a
while, especially to Easy Money and Christie Lee,
nice when you're cleaning and doing laundry.
Here are the "Christie Lee" lyrics.
Let me tell you a story
About a woman and a man
Maybe you will find familiar
Maybe you won't understand
The man's name I don't remember
He was always Joe to me
But I can't forget the woman
She was always Christie Lee
He was working in a night club
That's where he played the saxophone
He used to fake stock arrangements
He left the customers alone
But one night before the last song
About a quarter to three
He saw her standing at the coat check
And made his move on Christie Lee
Christie Lee, Christie Lee
Christie Lee, Christie Lee
She was a nice piece of music
She had a rhythm all her own
He blew a solo like a blind man
She really dug his saxophone
She wanted more than just an encore
And he could play in every key
He left the stage and packed his alto
And took it home with Christie Lee
Oh I heard the man knew "the Bird" like the bible
You know the man could blow an educated axe
He couldn't see that Christie Lee was a woman
Who didn't need another lover
All she wanted was the sax
It took a while for him to notice
It took a while for him to see
He was never in control here
It was always Christie Lee
Christie Lee, Christie Lee
Christie Lee, Christie Lee
Oh the man took a calculated gamble
Yes the man had the power to perform
But Christie Lee was more than he knew how to handle
She didn't need him as a man
All she wanted was the horn
They say that Joe became a wino
They say he always drinks alone
They say he stumbles like a blind man
They say he sold his saxophone
Even the band must face the music
That's what the moral is to me
The only time you hit the high note
Is when you play for Christie Lee
Christie Lee, Christie Lee
Christie Lee, Christie Lee

I don't think I'm that nice Terry, but that's something I can try to pretend, lol.
if you're not trying too hard.. wonder what you'd say if you were trying too hard :D :D
Now, 'Christie Lee' is a song I always liked a lot - and one of the few ones on AIM that don't sound too strange when you mix them with songs from his other albums. Great song to shout along to! :-)
Aww!!! P/AYM is a great song. I don't really like that album either, but This Night is probably one of my favoite songs.
We all question ourselves, and everything that happens, but somehow we figure out the answers.
You know who
@Soulgirl I love to shout along with Christie Lee and Easy Money in fact, I kind of like most of the songs on AIM, LOL
1. Easy Money Like I said, great to shout along with!
2. An Innocent Man Great lyrics and one of the best songs Live, it has become a real Billy song.
3. The Longest Time Never really got to me, but love the video, LOL
4. This Night Probably one of my all time favourites.
5. Tell Her About It One song I can do without,
but again a great video, and whenever I hear the song in a bar I go nuts, LOL
6. Uptown Girl So tired of this song.
7. Careless Talk Just doesn't fit his voice, but again not a bad song at all.
8. Christie Lee A real, true VAMP song :D
9. Leave A Tender Moment Alone Gotto love the live at Wembley video, shot in '84 with Toots Thielemans
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzID1vLeqCo It's a great song for that certain mood... *sighs*
10. Keeping The Faith LOVED it on the last tour, and I have always liked it..

From the typing I can see how much energy Billy Joel
gives you. You are making mistakes I would never see you make.
It is good to see and feel your energy.
You know who
Damn, I can see them now, LOL
I just switch into "hyper mode" when
it comes to Billy :D
