They come in so many ways.
First there are the nice surprises,
the ones you've never expected.
Lower bills
Tax refund
Seeing a friend you haven't seen in years
A good movie
rumors turning into the real thing

The bad surprises,
the ones who'll leave you speechless.
A huge spider and no one around
Bad birthday gifts
A Billy Joel CD with scratches
Getting people over while you wanted a quiet night,
there you are.. in a track suit, no make up....

The worst surprises,
the ones that'll freak you out.
Finding out your son has been in a major fight
Hearing about a terminal illness which is diagnosed
to one of your loved ones
Disasters all around the world

I guess I could go on and on, but we all have
to deal with surprises every day. Some are great
and some tear you up inside. The absolute worst part
is that it's all meant to be, people will tell you it's for
the best and things happen for a reason.
