Song quote of the day 10/21/2006

Goodbye yellow brick road by Elton John & Billy Joel

Mucis by Elton John, Lyrics by Bernie Taupin

When are you gonna come down
When are you going to land
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man

You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues

So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough

Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

What do you think you'll do then
I bet that'll shoot down your plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again

Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground

One of my Elton John favorites!

Nothing's changed.

Hey.

I'm alright, still in a lot of pain, but I got
nice painkillers, which I can take without
being knocked out! That's a good thing,
'cause I have the kids to take care of.
Richard will take the next 4 days off of work,
so he can be with the kids. I'm hoping to be
recovered before Wednesday.

My doctor thinks she knows what's causing the
problems, but there's nothing that can be done
while I'm still in pain. I don't believe her, so I'm trying
to get an appointment at my Osteopath's, that's therapy
based on manipulative techniques. He has helped me
many times before.

For now I'm hoping my Mom will pick the boys up,
they have been perfect angels so far, but you can't
expect kids to stay that way all through the day, they
need to get out and get rid of all the energy!
